  8. these pictures are from sys80, but you get exactly the same on impact as there close to the same circuit! just have not got round to posting this on my sys80 repair thread. the clock on every datasheet shows a nice square wave! Impossible to achieve so instead you find a nice sine wave 6mhz (if i remember correct for impact) and 10mhz for sys80. if this is incorrect then the cpu just won't run, this was one case where it would not work at all and clock looked like this Now with impact they use a resonator, and if you don't get the right type then you have troubles thay way too here is a good brand new resonator of the correct type! and here are some I bought new but they are not of the right cut internally! (scope on the same settings) this of course was when I was putting together the new impact cards! (Aug 2014) so a long time coming! but they are close now! Most say a oscilloscope is not necessary, just a meter and logic probe will do, but I find a scope invaluable for this sort of thing as I don't know how else you would know what was going on. the alternate is just to change everything in the area! but I found especially with sys80 the clock can still end up being wrong and was bit of a nightmare to sort! especially one old board I had!
