Just depends really. They rarely come up you have a better chance picking up a working Epoch cheap and taking it’s board unfortunately. One stop spares are currently selling them for £65. Bit much in my opinion but that’s up to you. Except for this repoch board I have the most I’ve paid is 42 quid but that was for a mint one that was previously bought from one stop spares

Convinced mainboard is faulty. Yes I sell small boards but not the Epoch mpu. Unless you want to buy one with no sound? That’s the only one I’d part with.

Thats good to know i read a page where some guy said he went through 3 epoch boards on his and the batterys destroyed all of them.. cant you just add wires and move the battery away from the board like you do with pins :s

Ya pretty much everyone will say that but honestly if you get a decent Condtion board and a PSU you shouldn’t have any problems. I prefer it over the M1/A/B tech. Mainly for the reason that the small boards are easily changeable, cheap and regularly available.

Not bad. That will definitely be helpful, chances are the Epoch mpu is faukty but we will know more when PSU is back in the machine 😀 No one here likes Epoch. Except me lol

Test equipment does not have to be expensive, lots of bargains about, just depends how you want to do repairs, and they are not difficult to use, these days of the internet there is always a video on what you want to know, different in my day when I bought my first scope there was no internet! had to learn myself, so you all have it so much easier these days!!! this was my first scope, bought from Maplins Southend NEW when they were a proper electronics parts supplier! went there special to buy it, it is still in the loft too in its original box with the receipt!!

Thanks gents I originally bought this for spares thinking that i might be able to salvage some bits from it to keep my other mps machines up and running as I thought the art work would be in really bad condition as you can never tell from the photos on eBay but after I got it home and checked it over I couldn’t see much wrong with it and it and after checking to see if there were any videos of other ones around I could not find any so I thought I would see if I could get it running and with the Mecca’s help and a spare mps 2 board which Louie had fixed for me previously it lives again thanks Louie and hopfully it will for a long time as it’s a simple but quirky game thanks again to all who have helped me on this and for the great comments cheers dave 🍻

so back to the board this thread was started on, not much done tonight as it has not been that warm in the workshop and could not be arsed! so the known bad track to the ram fixed, BUT also in total 4 links put in as yes there was more tracks rotted away! I am really finding the stereoscope very useful at spotting and repairing the tracks now I have one!!
