Try another coin loom? Maybe a pin has fallen out & gone back wrong, or even the key pin is missing & coin mec plug is a pin too high or low. Needs to have same number of pins above & below the plug when the mec has more pins than the plug.

Seems a lack of this,and they are certainly up and coming judging by the prices.So i have started this thread so all general people like me and many others can try and fix boards.Like if it dont boot what might it be.We dont all have scopes or logic probes and even if we did what are looking for.So any help and tips in english will be great,im fixing one soon for my machine and will be posting what i do.Im hoping this way we can all work out the weak points and all have a go our selves.

ok well put the roms in a old program card, this had anyold security chip in it (BC25) and it got to the security chip being invalid as expected! Put my rewrite-able pic chip in I use to test, with the correct code in and BINGO! or should I say ARCADE mode!!! worked perfect and got....... so yep the program card can be changed to the Arcade version!!

Buy chips from proper distributors like RS and Farnell, you will find nothing but dodgy fakes from ebay and aliexpress!!!! you want chips from manufacturers distributors that can prove the authenticity these days!

There are a few m1a repair threads I think. Unfortunately if you don't have the most basic of test / repair equipment and knowledge, pcb repair isn't going to be easy whatsoever. They only thing you can do, is read repair threads and guess at a fault on your own board. Then I can guess the only option would be to start trying to remove components (ic's) and replacing with new. You can replace many components on a board, which will make it a very expensive process and may not produce the desired working board. You need to read data sheets and understand what inputs on ic's do and what is needed to give certain outputs etc etc. Then be able to test these are working as per... Very difficult for someone with little or no electronics knowledge or test equipment. Can't knock people for wanting to try. M1a/b manual may be in the download section on here although I am not 100% sure without searching.
