  3. The Brenco arrived this morning, and it's every bit as good as it looks in the pictures. It must have been in a private club or hotel; it couldn't look like this after arcade use! The reels are slow to set off, the clutches are slipping. I was expecting the usual steel and leather discs. Instead we have two nylon bars, one of which is spring-loaded against a boss on the reel spindle. Friction is minimal; the first reel has barely started to turn before the stop-arm drops. Are there any tips for this type of clutch, before I start taking things to bits?

  5. Are you having a go at this mate? I have a WIP 90% done if it would help. I'd be more than happy to send it over. If not could you do me a hi-res scan of the flyer please, and I'll give it a go? Thanks

  7. MPS2 has no triacs on the MPU - they are on the hex pack. Possible that one of the transistors has gone short circuit (Q1-Q16) top left. they are each protected by resistor (R1-R16) respectivley... the 2.2 ohm resistor is also fusible so goes open circuit for protection. Sometimes it's just the resistor that has gone open circuit and thr transistor is OK. Transistor is a TIPP116 - also found on maygay M1b, JPM system5 and possibley Impact (Maybe more) but is no longer made. Fusible resistor can be a pain to get but aparantely can't be replaced by a normal carbon film 2.2 ohm resistor as the transistor can burn through the board. I did get a load of suposed fusible resistors but found them to not fuse so I only use ones from scrap boards these days. I'd start by checking the resistance of R1 to R16. one or more will probabley be open circuit...
