  1. Hi all I've been slowly chipping away at an opensource tool for patching sound ROMs. I've made a test romset for Empire Haunted House, where the feature board music has been replaced with a longer loop of the instrumental version of the official Ghostbusters theme. It's not there yet, the sound sample is still a little 'noisy' and also too loud, but if anyone has one of these machines and wants to give it a shot, here are the test sound ROMs: (Deleted, please use the 3x ROMs in the next post further down the page, they are better quality sound, and a longer test sample) It works in the MFME emulator, but I've no idea if it'll work in the real machine, it would need the ROMs burning onto 3x 512KB chips, and installing - I'm guessing the machine has the standard MPU4 board with 4x sound ROM sockets. No worries if not, just if anyone's curious who has the machine and a burner and some spare chips, it'll be cool to know if this 'just works' on real machines Here's a demo of it running on the emulator:

  3. Nice machine i was outbid on eBay for one of those about 10 years ago. For me it’s JPMs finest looking cabinet and houses some of its Best machines.

  6. Awesome, thanks! Here's the MPU4 game ROM: hh3_0.bin The Empire games don't need a Chr security chip, so hopefully this will run in whatever test machine you are using 🀞 Also here are the 2x original sound ROMs, just in case the 3x hacked ones don't work, to sanity check that it's definitely an issue with the sound ROMs, and not something else: hhsnd1.binhhsnd2.bin (as I'm guessing you are testing on something that is not a Haunted House? I know it's possible to run some ROMs in other similar machines, lamps are messed up, but it can still be somewhat playable...) Thanks very much for taking the time to test it!
