  3. What's the state of the board like around the battery area? Any corrosion in the CPU buffer chips can cause all sorts of funnies as can the three transistors near IC35. IC35 I'm finding is failing more often nowadays even in corrosion free boards, just a tiny squirt of freezer is enough to prove it. At least removing it will stop you running in to odd intermittent faults. Never seen any spares for these either as they are long obsolete! The first thing I check on these boards is the female pins in the Molex connectors, more often than not there's a few bent ones which are a real pain to straighten in situ (it can be done though unless they are totally crushed). Most of them occur in HD10 (36 Way) so it's a real pain to swap them out. As to the fault, it could be a number of things but at least it's coming out of RESET. I assume it does go into RESET?

  4. Measure out of circuit, but in fairness they seem to be ok with the readings measured in circuit you have, but in circuit can be deceptive as other components connected all have a effect on readings But as Bob says, other bits cause problems too, sometimes its just not that straightforward!

  5. Everything starts of at being behoned you, but with plenty of help from the community you'll get it sorted and there's no better feeling than it firing up and running.

  6. With these PSU's I always do a cap replacement as usually all the small caps have dried up and the -12v one. the larger ones seem to be OK most of the time. Never had a problem with the chassis mounted ones. If the adj voltage pots are set to one end to get the required voltage it's probably because the LM723's have gone out of spec, yours look fairly midway so you might be OK. If you do a cap swapout buy some good ones. (not chinese) Hopefully all 4 filter caps have been replaced and with the correct type!!!

  7. Different type of game with the player controlling the reel start/stop with the buttons on the feature rather than a nudge. First BF electro machine using an LED count gown for the feature timer. My old machine from a couple of years ago. saved it from going to scrap.
