  1. Hi Bob, the filter caps have been done but I haven’t looked at the ones in there yet other than they aren’t original. All voltages spot on except +5 volt. I’ve ordered pots and will clean up the whole psu over the weekend and see how it looks. Don’t think anything has been soldered apart from rifas. The rest seems untouched. Will measure resistance as Andrew said and clean up and photo see how it looks and take it from there. I’ve never tackled a psu before had them done properly but thought about time I did. Worse case I will fail miserably and ask for help, or will be worth the time and effort. 🙂 something for the weekend though 😎 thanks for the info 🙂 much appreciated.

  2. With these PSU's I always do a cap replacement as usually all the small caps have dried up and the -12v one. the larger ones seem to be OK most of the time. Never had a problem with the chassis mounted ones. If the adj voltage pots are set to one end to get the required voltage it's probably because the LM723's have gone out of spec, yours look fairly midway so you might be OK. If you do a cap swapout buy some good ones. (not chinese) Hopefully all 4 filter caps have been replaced and with the correct type!!!

  5. Standard POT issue, many threads on it measure the good leg of the old pot (the side that is not open circuit) and set the new one up the same resistance on the same leg, that way the adjustments will not usually need to be disturbed
