  3. I can't say I ever get angry enough to do that. Normally just a shrug of the shoulders and go and make a cup of tea! And so on to the last one. After yesterdays success the first thing I thought I'd do was to check all the DATA lines but this time all were in order. They do say lightning never strikes the same place twice! So where do we go from here? ADDRESS and DATA lines are all running but there's no IRQ on the CPU (pin 20). This called for a quick check in the Midibob book of horrible faults. Page 1, don't jump in the Thames! (or 'DON'T PANIC' if you're a Douglas Adams fan) If the board doesn't boot and you've tried everything else, before you start lifting all the PIO's start with the SIO. Blow me, hole in one! The SIO chip was bad. In with a replacement and BINGO she lives. These boards will actually fire up without all the PIO's but not the SIO, which is good to know. This set of Procon boards has been a real challenge but I've managed to succeed and keep my sanity. Time to move on to the next box of faults as I've got quite a few folks waiting and still unopened boxes in my hallway. Repairing boards is one thing but keeping the missus happy is something else!!!!!

  4. Over the moon with the diagram/manual. Read it all in the bath last night, to isolate everything that stops BOTH 10p and 2p solenoids from working. Ran through it this morning, and everything was fine, but still no payout. Decided to give it a rest, and look at the BANK feature, which starts but won't stop... Relay 4 coil was o/c. Swapped it, and the stop button worked. Paid out 10p. It turns out the 10p payout was working all the time. I had forgotten that most 10p wins pay out from the 2p column, in true Brenco style! I'm always telling people to work logically, but I rarely seem to take my own advice. Just the coin acceptors ('Rejectors' in Brenco jargon) to sort. The 2p has started to come to life, after a few quids' worth of coin. I've put a temporary elastic band round the lock-out armature, to stop the horrific mains buzz. That can wait until last. 10p next...

  7. I don't have a spare one of those, so I've used this arrangement. Just needs something like a marge tub, but stronger, to cover the inside terminals.

  9. Hello MPU Mecca, As a newbie to MPU Mecca I’m hoping to find an emulation BWB’s Secret 7’s, or its clones Silver 7’s and Minesweeper, and see how faithful the emulation is. To my recollection Secret 7’s was very complicated in its day 1998, with the added complication of nudges to nudges, where nudging in an overlaid number would given as many additional nudges (i.e. nudging in overlay 4 would give 4 more nudges and so on). This would allow you to nudge the reels some considerable distance to jackpot if lucky, which was one of many complex strategies to achieve jackpots. Although I can’t remember if there was an emptier on this game. I remember AceCoin games Twilight Zone, Open The Box etc, could be emptied from getting nudges to nudges via the band aid features. The earliest games I can just about remember playing are BFM’s Power Lines, Rose & Crown, Barcode, and Spectre. Recently signed up to desert island fruits and downloaded MFMEv20, and I must confess to becoming a bit confused with all these different web-sites that appear to be hosted on the same server. https://www.desertislandfruits.com/ http://www.dxcellent.com/ http://dadsfme.com/ https://www.fruit-emu.com/ Many thanks in advance.
