Hi does anyone know which pin on the scorp 2 board is the input pin for 20p's? Its Deluxe Cops n Robbers Club. Accepts and sorts 20p coins fine but does not credit them. I would have put new sockets on the scorp2 FPGA chips so it won't be related to that. Ive not looked at it yet but cant tell if its wiring, mech or board. Thanks

Now that I’ve got a bit of energy again. Over the past few days, I started by reading through the ‘cam timer service’ thread! And once the AMP plugs had been replaced, I was able to start taking the credit count sequence timer apart. It was a fiddly job, as it was firmly stuck due to all the rust. But with some WD40, I eventually managed to get it loose. Then I could start cleaning it and removing the rust. After that, I dried it thoroughly and put it back together, but then it didn’t fit. I couldn’t secure the switches; the four-sided rod was rotated 180 degrees. So I took it apart again, and put it back together, this time correctly. Some new bulbs (6V 2W) had also arrived, so I was able to replace the old ones straight away. The film capacitors (RC snubbers) also needed replacing; some were already cracked. I replaced these as well.

the program cards go bad as they have suffered battery vapours over the years which damages components on the card, as toddy67 as said the pic chips go bad as well the vapours appear to attack the way the oscillator circuit inside the chip act. they do not stand the test of time well. you getting 'pic ???' means the pic is not running so the mpu cannot read it

in most cases its the card its faulty or the pic chip is faulty as its not reading the pic chip so no matter what game file you have it wont load most of the time its card fault if its pic chip they cant be copied

Hi looking some advice on getting my barcrest horizon rainbow riches up and running.i bought it non running and it seems to be intact with nothing missing.on power up i was getting characteriser chip id error so i replaced the varta battery with a new one as the voltage was reading 1.1v with board off overnight.it still gives error after battery replacement and voltage to rbow rtc labeled chip is showing 2.56v on leg.when i try cf card with the proper rom on it i get bootstrap version then pic ??? Then firmware version.when i press test it doesnt program the flash.is this because it cant see the pic chip?.i have a programmer and a blank chip but cannot find the file i need to write or how to create one

Still very usable Mike. If you can get some decent hi res pics of a bottom glass for sag you could go down the perspex route which would be cheaper than glass printing.

I had a go at making some replacement backlit bands for Tensation a couple of years ago. They came out pretty good, but it was a lot of time and effort. Sadly, I no longer have access to the printer.

I actually forgot that I have the top glass 😂 it's a bit ropey but okay

Which ROM version are you using, and do you perhaps have a sample photo?

As far as I know there isn't one but just removing the battery would clear the RAM. You never say never though, there maybe a a ROM chip out there somewhere that can do it but I've never come across it. With MMM I always give all those resistors around the battery area the 'fingernail test'. If you put your fingernail under the resistor and give it a gentle lift and see if it breaks apart. If any of them do (which is normally the case) then it's best to change them all. You will probably find all the transistors have green legs too and will need changing. Have a look at my workshop thread for MMM for some really bad examples.

i Can't believe this thread is over 16 years old and sort of still going 😁 Anyway as for the project. When i started this in 2010 i was always hoping that others would take part and improve on what i did back then(which they have).Materials depend on backlit and none backlit. The best way is probably to look through the thread and see what different members have had success and failures with.
