I had thought about building one of those. Never got round to it though...
-
Didn't realise there were 4 supply voltages needed. Not many pins left on the chip with that lot connected 😆 I'd think twice before putting a rom in something I'd knocked up... Especially if it was the last one known & no backups existing... Then there is the software side and multiple manufacturers of 2708 Looks like 2708 have got expensive to come by

Wow. That's a lot of £s for an adaptor. I did build an Arduino shield version, which initially read eproms ok, but when I tried to burn some, they literally burned 😳. I'm guessing that I got something wrong.... An easy to build programmer for 2704 / 2708 / TMS2716 / MCM68764 / MCM68766 EPROMs – Matt's Tech Pages https://share.google/y1qxj95mkDGOs1Bk1

No worries. 2708 are an oddball to burn & most modern programmers won't do them... And the ones that do need an extra board. Bloomin hec that's doubled in price https://uk.dataman.com/products/module-2708?srsltid=AfmBOooYeXc0uQvN1mGMw2gPi9a6AWTNEYT25lHaGEIACYTqJlNvPFXW Plus need the programmer like a Dataman Pro40 to plug it in to too... Sure @superbankknows what he's doing & got the kit though 👍

Thanks Louie. Many thanks for the offer. Very much appreciated 🙂 Superbank has kindly offered to do this for me. If he has any problems, I would love to take up your kind offer... Cheers, Pete

ROMs are about as it's emulated https://www.desertislandfruits.com/forum/index.php?/files/file/1246-nudge-double-up/ that's the had bit covered I've got the right kit to burn SRU roms and perhaps have some good spare 2708 too. Looks like I ripped a set 😁 https://www.fruitemu.co.uk/ib/topic/19629-sru-unknown-rom-set/#comment-305933

Working !! The new board arrived and when I took the old board out I realised one of the new chips was only connected one side !!! Put them in correctly and all working and know sec fault too !

Hi , ive just done what you said but its still not made any difference

Where from? Is it guaranteed working order? Also, have you tried this.... Turn the machine off Set switch 8 on the right hand side DIL switch to ON Turn the machine on and leave it for a few minutes Turn the machine back off Set switch 8 back to OFF Turn the machine back on That will clear the RAM and if you're lucky it might boot up... Finally, make sure jumpers J1, J2 and J4 are set the same as they were on the original board.

Ok , new board then , got one coming hopefully that will sort it

Try changing the theme at the bottom of the page to "New Default", it is a known fault that can cause that issue.

To those people who have replied to my earlier post, sorry I cannot reply or post anything because I am getting a constant 'some thing went wrong' error EX0 I have tried to report it to a Moderator but getting absolutely no response.

Hi all, as per title, looking for some more recent Concept ROMs. I have loads of ROMs for older stuff, but the ones above are eluding me! Don't need any of the general 2-win, 3-win or 4-win ROMs, I'm looking for specific ROMs for the above mentioned games (and maybe others, feel free to offer anything!). Definitely after any ROMs for Jokers - the one with a wild joker on each reel. I have Jokers Magic but that's a clone of Reel Magic, with just one wild on the middle reel. The emptiable ROMs for Jokers would be the holy grail - but I'd be happy with any versions out there. Happy to buy physical chips and dump myself if needed. Don't need the security kit, just the ROMs themselves. Also happy to pay postage both ways with beer money on top if you'd be happy for me to dump and return Only after Electrocoin based ones at the moment Many thanks if you can help!

Trying to locate one so I can repair my MPU3 boards. I don't see anything in the download section and assume that it's because I haven't contributed yet? Any help would be appreciated. Regards

Hello everyone.. Can anyone help me please? I would like to get 3 tms2708's burned for a JPM SRU Nudge Double Up. Clo has very kindly supplied the Bin files. I did have someone lined up on Ebay, but unfortunately they couldn't burn the 2708's. Obviously happy to pay for this... Thanks in advance, Pete

Yes, fair point on saving the circuitry working so hard. As long as you like the look that's all that matters. Tbf I have never seen a pinball machine with LEDs on.

Re: pinball and LEDs. Agree, BUT…. …you can get ‘LED OCD’ devices that really help with this. Plus, the ‘daylight’ white colour temp of some LEDs really helps with the playfield insert colours - they’re the actual colour, not a very warm and dull version! I'm all for retro things looking original, but likewise I’ve spent a fair amount of time choosing the right LEDs for my pinball machines, then making sure they’re not too bright. They save a bit of power and are generally easier on the lamp matrix circuitry, and they last years so don’t need changing! A lot less heat too. pictures don’t really do it justice.

It's not clear from the photos of the schematic, but the date was April '79. It would presumably have gone into production soon after.
-
It's quite possible but, My guess is it could be the similar cabinet as Catch it. If I can find a picture I will post it being interested myself now as to what the machine was.
