Hey guys, I hope you are all well. So I got bored and bought a non working MPU5 machine for cheap with a 54-2A error. I believe the issue is with the LCD meter near the coin mechanism, however, I wouldn't put it past being the main board. The board itself has some minor batt leakage but seems OK, nothing major. When you switch it on it goes to boot and displays "Yaba Daba Darts" before error coding. No audio with this error message though, which is strange. I was hoping one of you lovely people would have a spare for some beer tokens. Wanted to try replacing this before I bought the board. Many thanks. Chris.

Good afternoon I am after some data protocol software for Classic Red Hot Roll, MPU5, RIO Cabinet. I have attached the full set, I think its bingo if this helps anyone locate RNDR_0-2_STD_CSUM-FB13.P2RNDR.P4RNDR.P3RNDR_0-2B_STD_CSUM-816D.P1 I do have this file, it says its data but if i fit this then the RED status LED stays on and does not boot so not sure if its labelled wrong or corrupt? CSUM is 5332 RNDR0.2D.P1 The PIC and card show conflicting versions but im going to go from the Alpha display. Thanks in advance

I moved the flying saucer sensor towards the top of the tube and then made sure the other one was ok and then the left hand tube is now in use and the right one locked out. I will precede with filling up the tubes and see what happens.
-
When the coins reach the sensor in tube one, the machine will lock out that coin slot, and only allow 50ps to go into the other 50p slot. You may find the right tube is locked out because the sensor thinks the tube is full. I’ve had it before where the sticker on the tube is confused for coins by the machine. Try sliding sensor around a bit - just allow a few secs for the machine to catch up between moving it

Hi all I am not sure if both tubes need the sensor in pic 1 as the right hand tube has one but the left doesn't pic 2. Currently the left tube is lit to take coins but the right isn't. I am assuming that the sensor in pic 1 needs to be on the left tube instead but there is also another connector that's the same as the one that goes into the other sensor just abandoned Pic 3 so again assume that I am missing the sensor? Is there a known PDF manual for this fruit? Regards Christopher

Yeh I will definitely sign up and download. Obviously if I’d know this program was out there I would have just taken the easy route and used that which would have allowed me to use my coding time to work on other software projects(why reinvent the wheel)but as they say we are where we are(I had to get the IO22 usable to program some 2708s and Mars bipolars. I use my Avantech Labtool for everything else). As said before though the challenge is nice and getting a better understanding of how things work is always a plus.
-
Do have a look at Mikes program you won't be disappointed. It's called PL2260. Congrats for doing your own though, way above my understanding.
-
Cheers for that. I did see a French based site with some windows stuff for the IO22 but it seemed a bit out of date so i decided to have a crack myself(i did not come across the site you mentioned that would have saved me some time). TBH i actually enjoyed the challenge of coding my own(which i have not yet completed but the loading, saving and transferring of files part of the program works which is all i need for now and will finish the rest when time allows) A quick screenshot of the 2 versions i was working on(1. Simple and 2 more in-depth). Both where in the very early stage of development and will probably look far different when complete. 1. 2.

I assume this is the Data I/O 22? If so did you know a guy called Mike DiBattista has written a Windows program to talk to all the Data I/O programmers and very good it is too. I use it all the time with my 29B. It's a free download from the groups.io forum DataioEPROM but you'll need to sign up first. Hope that's useful.

Very interesting items. In the right environment, they will look great.
-
Love that! Very nice to hear about the comprehensive documentation and in exactly the right hands. I got lucky with second hand modern kit that can handle oldskool jobs like 2708

Cool. I have often looked at buying one, but it seems like a quantum leap, since I have no clue about them
-
The manual is quite large but very informative they even include the schematics. The only minus s lack of modern software available so I had to code my own so I can transfer files to and from the programmer(the protocols are also included the manual).
-
Ooh nice. I hope it has instructions...
-
I just go for a full old school programmer for an old scroll job(I also use this for programming mars mechs).

My god i remember my parents having one of these at home in the 70s but it was purely electro-mechanical, bloody 48v relays and cam switches galore, I remember the noises it made and loved that 70s pub smell you got every time you opened the back door.🤣 (Edit, just remembered it was actually called Housey Housey).
-
Fine as they are just going to be used in front of machines in my man cave.

😅😅 very nice Ron, how has that gone down with the Mrs?

I had thought about building one of those. Never got round to it though...
