  1. Like all these old techs there's more variations than you can shake a stick at! This one is obviously 4 reel, the main CPU board (I know it isn't a CPU board as such but hey ho..) has extra components under the blue connector. They are drilled and sign written on mine but not populated. Of more interest is the triacs as there is space for 12 all together but yours doesn't even have the extras ones drilled or labelled! The decode boards are totally different as mine doesn't have half the chips or the ZN1040. Luckily there is info on this one. The middle board is totally different and has loads more connections. The component masks are all printed too whereas mine are all hand written which makes it a little difficult to read. I'll post some pics when I get time.

It will be a build up of dirt and possibly grease after someone has lubricated the solenoid, They are designed to run dry just make sure the plunger is clean and shiny and the core of the solenoid is clean of any dirt, Make sure the small vent hole on the top of the solenoid is also kept clear. If it's still too tight then the solenoid may have over heated at some point and the inner sleeve has expanded to nip the plunger.

  3. Hi midibob thanks, I had already read the link thread. but thanks. my LSI looks a bit different more connections, extra pcb, credit display green plug, that is controlled by the Ferranti ZN1040E 7607 ic. this is a count display ic .
