    MPU2 test rig

Don't know which pin should be the test switch? It's not mentioned in the wiring diagram. I haven't had a chance to check all the combinations and not knowing if it's a definite, I'm reluctant to spend too much time looking for it. Shame there's not more documentation.

Could be the door switch needs to be made and the test switch needs to be in break?

Calculator is worth more than the machine.... as for paying the chimp, a double cheese burger or banana will do. He shouldn’t take the piss out of my hobby should he he actually said he enjoyed doing it so I may be turning him.... new chief fruit polisher in the making.....

    Maygay Screen Play audio fault

That's for sure! I do it now and again too! luckily mostly PIC chips survive if they are spotted right away when the machine does not work! if left and allowed to get hot there toast! GAL/PAL chips usually the same unless they are old! it varies really!

    Maygay Screen Play audio fault

I am starting to think of going down the write once route on some projects for sure, especially as you have pointed out previously, you don't get the same degradation issues with write once chips, over using old stock EPROMS. Guess I am not the only one to fuck up with ROM's like this before

    Maygay Screen Play audio fault

yep it usually burns our the +5v wire to the chip die, only needs a split second for the rom to go up! sometimes if your in the right position when turning on the power you can see a bright flash from within the quartz window. every eprom destroys it's self if put in the wrong way round, (one reason why I use new one time programmable proms as they don't suffer from this but of course can only be written to the once but once the software is in the prom I am never likely to update it as updates for 30 year old fruit machines stopped a good few years ago now)

    MPU2 test rig

That's a thought although there's nothing on the MPU2 diagram to suggest that? Not all the switch ports are used so it is possible. They do normally document it on the diagram though. The game manual apparently has the answer but nobody's got one. Yep, the push to break had me going when I first started on the MPU1's. The coin inputs however are still make switches, I'll think you'll find. Certainly work that way on my test rig and the diagram agrees too.

    Maygay Screen Play audio fault

I'm fucking kicking myself here over a very simple mistake! Had one of the members from the FB COAMAS group send me some parts for testing, and whilst mine still works, got the audio fault still, so I plug in the sound board complete with the guys ROM's I made previously, all worked 100%, so I start thinking, is it my sound rom or board that is shagged? Most easy thing to try, is a ROM swap at this stage..... fault returns! Makes another copy from the good one, fires it back up, same fault comes back. Pissed off, I glares at the ROM I just fitted, it's back to front, so corrects it, fault still remains..... plugging in a sound ROM on an M1V machine at least wrong way around, fucks up the ROM.... DOH! Makes another one, plugs in right way around, all works, so lesson learned!

Well original is best and although expensive its well worth it.These lamps have a lense at the top that magnifies and evens out the glow. Not sure why usa have them as they are on 240 volt.

    MPU2 test rig

might have already thought about it , but is there a way to reverse the switches in the emulator as MPU2 uses push to break not push to make. It caught me out no end at first when I was working on a triple chance waaaaaaaaay back in 09. I see up above there you already know they are push to break. I checked the emulator and you can invert the switches. So that would mean that the coin inputs need to be stuck on because breaking them triggers an interrupt Also hold and start buttons and coin sensor microswitches all need to be inverted to be on when not active also. I cant mind if mpu2 actually has a test mode as such. I think theres a toggle switch in the cabinet , I could be wrong!.
