Yes it can be all consuming if you're not careful. Mind you when you do find the odd dodgy one it makes it all worthwhile.

Had a play with it today and can say that it is worth the price. Took the ics out of Nippy Nudgers MPU1 and it failed the 6810 ram and was happy with both the 6820 pias and the 6800 cpu. I then got carried away testing a pile of old MOS CBM chip pulls i have (6502, 6510 etc). Still happy to have bought the retro chip tester as well, i think they each have their benefits. Think i might go to the pub now before i get too sad and carried away testing things for the hell of it.🤣

I went on Saturday and was treated to a warm welcome and free drinks. Can't remember shovelling so many 10p's into the slots before in such a short space of time but the sounds of the machines were fantastic, with the 80's music on in the background it was just like the old days. I got a few jackpots and lost a few gambles too. Glad to have made the trip, even though the trains were terribly delayed. My favourite was the JPM bingo fruit machine, forget its name. I remember some of them being really tight and nothing has changed lol, those being Chances Unlimited, Road Runner, Frog Hop and Fruit Snapper. Adders and Ladders is probably my favourite MPU3 shorter cab machine. Just a shame there were no taller MPU3's like Fortune Numbers or Strike a Light. Was also hoping for some BFM original Cops and Robbers. Maybe they will come one day. Overall a very enjoyable visit and quite happy to waste a few quid indulging in my childhood memories. Hope to visit again in the future.

I'm so happy because the machine works. I put in place the three eprom of the second machine on the CPU of the first machine and every thing is OK. Now I just have to wait for my friend to copy the latest files on blank 2716 and the two machines will work (I hope so ) So, forget the "Regent 1 files" , they don't work, I don't know why and I think I will never know.

The only set that I can see are Rev 2.1 which is what you are using. I'll have a sniff about to see if there are any earlier versions available 👍

Mine has just arrived and yes i did £43.80 in total of which was £2.38 import duty, £30.00 ish in VAT and £11.00 ish in disbursment fees what ever that was for (probably Fed Ex charge for collecting the taxes.) So in total with carriage it has cost about £235.00

Hello Thank you for all this information. So, still no luck with the oscilloscope. I replaced C34 just in case (OK). C32 and 33 are new and have been rechecked (OK). The measured resistances 67, 68, and 69 are perfect (OK). In this configuration, it's still 487 Hz. Then, I replaced the NE555 with the old MC1455, and then it jumps to 514 Hz. But it doesn't change anything; the problem is the same. I'm still getting 99 Hz on pin 13 of IC18. Well, I'll see if the values are equivalent with the oscilloscope. Thank you very much.

Thank you for the fantastic layout.

I'll take a look.

Are there various roms for this game? Are there earlier ones than we have?
-
Lovely stuff, thanks for this Vectra!

next up is some 80's old skool fun in the form of Naughty but Nice on Mpu3 Tech, Thanks goto @WonkySausage - images @wayfinder - layout used for lamping references @Pook - main reel symbols @pete_w - for the star and NN symbol Shortcuts are listed within the notes This machine accepts All coins including 1p's,2p's and 5p's not £2 coins as they weren't around when the machine was released Enjoy and HAPPY Gaming!!!! Naughty but Nice £3 Dx.zip

That’s why I didn’t buy them. had they been the power ones then maybe.
-
Jabdog were selling these separately a while back for an outrageous price as a pair with crimp pins. Pity they didn't sell the bag of AMP connectors separately as I probably would have bought them. To get all the other unwanted stuff with them puts me right off.

Ah OK. I know for sure that the diags won't even run if the 500Hz (500-660) is out of limits, not sure about games though but 487Hz would be enough out of spec. Both R68 and 69 should be changed as they go out of spec. The 0.1uF poly I have found needs to be selected to get the oscillator frequency correct. The % variation of this component (even new ones) is quite large and you may need to select one that puts the oscillator in range. Sometimes the 555 can be responsible and also C34 although not so often. Also make sure C32 is OK (0.1uF), I think you've already changed this. The waveform is square wave but it's not a 50/50% pulse width.

I have the logic files for the CPU card. I dont have the files for the export game card sadly...im happy to share them with yourself or Andrew. You can always try reading them too. IMO I dont think they're for security, I think the purpose is to keep the cards compact rather than having 6-12 extra logic ICs onboard.

Hello. So, while waiting for my equipment, I've been looking into all this. You're probably thinking, "This guy's a complete idiot," and you'd be right. I just realized that one of my multimeters can measure Hz. I've never used it before. So, I hope you'll forgive me. Let's get back to that. I'm getting 100 Hz on IC18 pins 12 and 13, as well as on the following diagram. For IC10 pin 3, I'm getting 487 Hz (not 550-600 Hz). Please note, I don't know if the signal is a square wave and if I can trust my multimeter in this range. In the meantime, this gives us an idea. Thank you for your patience.

I remade my own to do the same logic functions, I found originals to be security locked, but others have found some of them to be open

2 Job lots that look like they include some brand new connectors. Looks more like the triac plug than the power one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/365966669642?_skw=365966669642&itmmeta=01K9WZGM156T0DQQWYT25CGTX1&hash=item553550374a:g:t9EAAeSwAJVo9TCR&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA8FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1e8NtF%2B8L2f4Q6XmZZcgnVOjWtYeHvMxfHm0f8pBjp%2FdMq41TO1Q1K3zhOeVcVAPqABFdrqH7HS8A1E4t%2FVwsivDKtYb68G8Emsn6QkOXIL200OLKW1buPVkjVB72MjElsK%2B%2B62qFAwxmTdLSULOgvtGCxuFBHzfdPM9ED6NTg7Le8cmiqHi%2FJq1SmVlCRJUpEsxJTxNtR21zULWcXqiq94QJGNwnmLaQ0fezIXjKRu4egpOB--vBaSf%2Bhjbhdc8Z9RPwxbEiY2Mb8yM3F32PGlgJ1qy8c%2BZr2rpGaJeZrKTw%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR9bAwp_PZg

lol, dont know what happend, but accidently deleted this thread. talking about the GAL/PAL ic's si it possible to dump these? are tehse security chips?

Good evening. Well, I've ordered an oscilloscope and a logic probe. I'll need some time to receive everything and get used to the basics of using it. I'll keep you posted. Thanks.

Hello Yes, Northstar; but look above at a photo of the MPU. You'll see; all the red points are new components. Mounted in sockets. I actually started with IC5, then 6840, then 6808, and... all the integrated circuits. Thanks
