  2. Would be fantastic to see if any roms from emulation exist for Barcrest mpu2 Number Nudger 2. If anyone can help, maybe we can get Andy's machine working at Red Rose Bowl. Then everyone who visits can get to play on this classic machine. Thanks Everyone 👍
  3. Has Number Nudger 2 mpu2 been emulated? Would love to see it running at Red Rose. I think it has faulty roms in it?

  9. some i hear put boards in the dishwasher or clean them under a tap, not something i would do as tap water has chemicals in it too. If I had to do that it would need to really be distilled water which is pure. But I have never done that nor would i ever use any water, it encourages more corrosion in my eyes (water + metal = rust)
  10. just IPA, its inert and does a very good job, it does soak into the pcb substrate under the etch resist so cleans there as well and any excess just drys, where vinegar (acid) will just stay which isn't good and really bad for these chips with those tiny tiny legs, they will properly just rot away and fall off from the chip body
  11. The board is going to be sonic cleaned next. But thank you for the info. Again, it's what I was advised by someone else- not from this forum. What do you suggest I clean the corrosion with if I get another scenario?
  12. I have done a few screenplays which are the same tech, they are not easy to get rerunning at all
  13. others will also tell you once a 'vinegar treated' board is repaired with a soldering iron, it emits a horrible acidic smell which really isn't good for the repairers eyes or nose or anything really. if they have any sense should stop there and send the board back!, once it's been vinegar washed it never can be removed totally, acid is not good for component legs or the copper pcb. acid loves to eat copper no matter how much its been rinsed, it gets under everything and remains there, how you then test for PH neutral, or mix up a acid solution which will leave the PH neutral is not something it seems anyone does when using vinegar. I have, and never will touch any boards that have been vinegar washed, its easy to detect years later when the board goes wrong again too. its similar to saying....... i clean my cars paintwork with battery acid.
  14. you do realise with vinegar you are putting ACID on the board which gets under chips and stays there storing up more damage not to far in the future?
  15. Cheers for the video Chris. Lot more machines there than when I last went
  16. Lovely machines and thanks for the vid
  17. Latest trip to play on these. Didn't get much chance later on to play the rest of the machines in the 'JPM room' as they were holding a children's party in there. Still had a fantastic time though. New additions are Number Nudger 2 for display only until roms can be sorted and Bell Fruit Fireball which played happy for the video.
  18. Iirc Update so far. Cleaned the board first pass. Jumped where tracks are bad. Needs some coating to tidy up and another pass with vinegar to get the rest of the bluer corrosion off. Especially under the cpu legs.

Hi can anyone help has anyone got the flash file for empire games buck shot £70 jackpot mpu5 please luckily pic chip is fine but card battery damaged have soured a card just need file many thanks in advance
  20. Any help appreciated regarding sound problem
  21. Would anyone be able to help locate the problem on only some of the sound ? It plays OK and clear on most but as the game progresses to next stage of winning it goes distorted or missing just on that bit
  22. Iirc I have removed boards and battery. There is some corrosion. From the leaky unit. I have used white vinegar to neutralise then ipa to clean. Next job is to use multeyer to check for breaks
  23. Maygay M2 is the Quiz game roms are dumped but the questions are missing IIRC
  24. Hi, there is more than likely battery leakage on one if those boards. Do you have a picture of the front of the machine? as wondering what it is? a quiz or fruit machine?
  25. With the coin mech coils it's more than likely the BC337 driver transistors. If there's any green legs I swap them all out (10 off). The triacs do fail of course but it's more often the transistors. Stuck lamps is usually the PNP transistor T29 for some reason it fails more often than any of the others, no idea why? Check out the diagram so you know which line of lamps are the culprit. Twitchy reel, if I suspect a bad transistor I usually change all four, saves on repeat faults.
  26. Not a chance Bob, it was my goose chase, managed a machine test, twitchy reel B, will check the transistors, Had a lamp issue prior to it failing I changed the suspect transistor to one from an mpu4 BDX something I think, but I see some 4 lamps brightly stuck on, Also the coin mech colis are not energising so still some work to do Thanks Ronnie
