  2. Yeah totally agree its staggering considering - not just its age but it was in a building where there was a fire and water to put the fire out! (main damage was the plinth to be fair it saved the rest I think) oh and vandalism! amazed she survived and glad to get it back running after 30 years stood in a closed down arcade in Grimsby 🙂
  3. That cabinet is in really good condition considering it’s age, looking forward to seeing some pics of the end result.

  5. Thanks to John Parker for all his help we have managed to get the 7.2 version roms working in my real machine on 10p play. I’ll therefore be rebuilding it on 10p. It’s been a real pain getting these roms working, my XG Pro wouldn’t write to the small 64k roms (8k code) but I have since found out that was simply the EPROMs were the older higher voltage variant. New XG Pro T48 and problem solved as it will program up to 21 volts. In the mean time John compiled the Roms as a single 40k code on a 512 eprom and the new larger gamecard. That got me working on 10p and seeing what challenges that gave me! Tech challenges aside the change to 10p roms has also meant quite a few changes to my early design MPU4 cabinet, for example the old mechanical S10 didn’t work in the new code (token did) and the button mappings were all slightly out. It also wanted all 8 meters so had to wire the extra 2 in. Lighting was thankfully 100% the same! Im now just awaiting the powder coated frames back and have completed my work on the cabinet and conversion to 10p. I’ve got the S10 working by using the feed off the Mars mech so the machine will feel original. All the changes are easily reversible if ever I wanted to revert to 5p (very unlikely). So a good clean, S10’s serviced, plinth repair and paint, replaced a few broken bulb holders etc etc and the machine is stood ready for the frames hopefully in a weeks time 😁 I’m delighted with the cabinet condition I’d actually say one of the best I’ve seen on an old AWP! Oh and coin bezels rebuilt both in silver 👍
  6. That sounds good baz .I'm in your very capable hands on this one and I'm sure it'll come out really well .thanks for the update mate 👍
  7. Nick, been messing with £2 decals. Think maybe a layer of black vinyl, transparent £2 then spray yellow over back, then a top coat of white. work in progress..... On it again tomorrow!!
  8. Last week
  9. BONUS FRUIT .quite a rarity by leisure games
  10. Nice, what is that machine called?
  11. Hey Phil look forward to seeing you getting these going - look like more salvaged from the Grimsby arcade?I am amazed just how well my Line Up faired. I wonder who got the rat race?
  12. Certainly a bit different Phil, never seen one! Be good to see it going!
  13. I’ve seen them California cliffs hemsby/Great Yarmouth 1985.
  14. Fascinating. Looks like a hybrid of Nudge Double Up Deluxe with a dash of Eachway Shuffle. Without the shuffle. Great find, mate.
  15. Louth leisure maybe yet to get it out of the van ,, will take a good few pictures,,
  16. That is a new one to me. Who was the remake done by?
  17. Evening all well today I picked up another couple of sru’s go for gold and a double top which will be broken down as the cabinet is completely trolled , as anyone ever seen go for gold , it needs some tlc but nothing major
  18. Final call for anyone with the 10p actual machine or original 10p rom set .... I am about to try the 7.2 that john is helping me with but does involve remapping cab bits and if there is any chance anyone has or knows anyone with an original cab on 10p please ask I would be most grateful. I'll know more tomorrow when I get a couple of EPROMS I had to order Fingers crossed one of you lovely people come up trumps and knows someone with the 10p cab who has perhaps copied their roms? I have shared my 6.5 original 5p set over on DIF with John too.
  19. I’m glad you never had to swallow for a green lens in the end Martin.
  20. For me, 10p play is a much better game. I was never a fan of 5p play machines at all. The fact that you can gamble to Unlimited Nudges on the 10p version would swing it for me alone. It's as close as you can get to the MPU3 version. Sorry, I don't have any MPU4 Line Up ROMs but will take a look at what's on the forums.
  21. Looking for around 20 if anyone has some to sell, bottom right green one in pic please Thanks Ronnie
  22. I would really like to rebuild it as 10p play as you get unlimited nudges plus all wins can be gambled (apart from the single 10p centre reel of course) - I am having problems getting the roms as I "think" there were 2 versions based on the cab being rebuilt (mine is the supertubes which has the mechanical 10p coin mech) BWB refer in the instructions as MKI and MKII. I am unsure on this tho. I have a few folk looking/helping but if anyone knows or has the 10p file that will work on my setup please let me know I would be glad of help. Anyone got any view on what plays best 10p or 5p? I am lucky to have both glasses and a few weeks before I actually rebuild since I have the frames re-coated. The glass award/price of play is swappable but the stickers are going to be ruined once removed and I'd have to make more and I was lucky to get the second glass set same time.
  23. The biggest issue that I had with this rebuild was that it could hold but not feature hold with numbers on the win line. The original version never did this. Very frustrating and I could never work out why they felt the need to change it.
  24. The version that is quite often overlooked. There was plenty of these, in the 1990's along with 2p play MPU4 Big Shots (the infinite feature hold on "S-H-O-O-". Anyway, there was a small arcade opposite my work, in Selly Oak, that had one of these. (along with a load of DJE rebuilds from project machines) And I knew it was a cheap day out on this machine, pound in, usually 50p back out, nothing exciting. Until the bars rolled in for jackpot (2 quid), and it held 5x for 12 quid.. Which, got me thinking, the original didn't do that, so what kind of pot must this machine save to drop 12 quid. Wasn't complaining, fish, chips mushy peas, and got the 11c home. Work (Burman-Hiton) is now student flats, and the arcade (leisure spot) is long gone.(Now a Pizza grill). Statto
