Latest trip to play on these. Didn't get much chance later on to play the rest of the machines in the 'JPM room' as they were holding a children's party in there. Still had a fantastic time though. New additions are Number Nudger 2 for display only until roms can be sorted and Bell Fruit Fireball which played happy for the video.2 points

I was the big hitter ‘of the time’ who decided to let red rose win it as it was getting a bit silly…it had no back door when the rose picked it up I think, which would have really annoyed me…another back door lost for a kids bike ramp I suppose..1 point

That's a very expensive conversation piece unfortunately. Can't believe that another one hasn't surfaced. I remember when this came up for sale on eBay, must have been 20 years ago and all the big hitters (of the time) were up against one another for it. Went for about £1100 IIRC which was a record at the time. It was tucked away in some blokes shed for years, bet he couldn't believe it when it raised over a grand! 😆1 point

some i hear put boards in the dishwasher or clean them under a tap, not something i would do as tap water has chemicals in it too. If I had to do that it would need to really be distilled water which is pure. But I have never done that nor would i ever use any water, it encourages more corrosion in my eyes (water + metal = rust)1 point

you do realise with vinegar you are putting ACID on the board which gets under chips and stays there storing up more damage not to far in the future?1 point

With the coin mech coils it's more than likely the BC337 driver transistors. If there's any green legs I swap them all out (10 off). The triacs do fail of course but it's more often the transistors. Stuck lamps is usually the PNP transistor T29 for some reason it fails more often than any of the others, no idea why? Check out the diagram so you know which line of lamps are the culprit. Twitchy reel, if I suspect a bad transistor I usually change all four, saves on repeat faults.1 point

Hi chaps, and chapesses. As I get MPU3's in various states of damage one of the most usual things is the cart holder is either missing or broken. As everyone knows without the holder intermittent faults abound due to vibration. Trying to find spare carts is more or less impossible so I thought I'd have a go at knocking up a 3D version. Here's the 2nd attempt, the 1st one the mounting holes spacing were about a 1mm out. I can probably use it but wanted a good one straight off the printer. Having said that it does need a little filing to ease the connector in but everything lines up which is the main objective. I will install it this afternoon and report back but so far all looks good. The rough bits on the bottom are where the supports have to go to enable the raised bit which takes the metal brackets. I cut those off with a small chisel. If there's any interest I'll post the STL file so you can print your own or if you want to improve it. All I ask is you post it back here so I can use it as well.1 point

Unusual ROM set you've got there. I can't remember seeing a LAN where you can press the start button and get the reels spinning while it's still paying out. Common on NDU MK1, not on LAN1 point

Iirc Update so far. Cleaned the board first pass. Jumped where tracks are bad. Needs some coating to tidy up and another pass with vinegar to get the rest of the bluer corrosion off. Especially under the cpu legs.0 points
