  2. Is there no info written on the ROM window cover labels? Even if it's only P1, P2 or P3 so we know which is which.
  3. You are right, nothing to compare the ROM codes, I tried to contact someone who had the same machine ten years ago, but he does not answer me. IC 13, IC 14 and IC15 are 2716. I attached the ROM files on april the 18th and you saw in ROM 3 'COPYWRITE RETAINED BY FBN ELECTRONIC SYSEMS LTD' Maybe that' the problem
  4. Hmm, getting difficult to know where to go next with this? Can you check the CPU pins 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 to make sure there's activity on all those pins. The problem could be down to the ROMs, difficult to say. Can I assume that IC13 is ROM1? That's the only one being read according to your readings which also says the RAM isn't being enabled either. The problem with the ROM code is there's nothing to compare it with to know if the code is good? What's written on the ROMs as I can't read it it from the photo?
  5. Just to introduce myself. My machine has a problem on just some of the sound stages. Maybe I will post a request under the help pages. Alan

  7. Hello. Here is the diagram of the small board. You can see the COP499. Vbat goes to pin 11 of PL4 and to pins 11 and 14 of PL5 (collectors of transistors ITX450 number 9, 23 and 24) but don't go to the RAM. On IC5 (74LS139) the pulsating pins are 1, 2, 3, 4, 11, 13, 14 and 15. Pins 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 don't pulse. The pulsing outputs are pins 4, 11, 13 and14. The outputs 5, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 don't pulse. I replaced IC5 but it's the same. On IC6 and IC7 (74LS138) the pulsating pins are 1,2,3,5 and 6. Pins 7, 9, 10, 11, 12 13, 14 and 15 don't pulse. So, no output is pulsing (pin 7 and pins 9 to 15)
  8. Well I wrote this ages and ages ago and I was just inspired to bump this ancient post wondering if the tech and resources have advanced to a point where more is known about with of these 2.

  10. I'm still chipping away - just in fits and starts as life demands and mental health allows Planning to do a project asset browser for Oasis next, it'll all come together one day...
  11. If it's emulation rather than real machines you're interested in, you'd be better off at the desert island fruits site, that is much more emulation focused, this site is more focused on real machines: https://www.desertislandfruits.com/
  12. Hmm, not sure why they would put a limit on the number of games? Still, for now we just need to confirm that things are working as they should. So are all the enable pins pulsing on the ROM and RAM chips from IC5? Are all the outputs from the 74LS138's and 139 pulsing? Is the Vbat suppy OK? (should have 5v on the RAM chips pin 18) Where does that COP499 chip interface to the diagram?
  13. Hi Is this type of board posible to repair og someone have one working for sale ? The machine have 85 code in display, i may belive it also can be the RTC expension board that is failure. Any idea ? Thanks

  15. Her is the MPU diagram. I hope it will be useful. I cheked the lines and they all pulse. They don't all pulse in the same way but they pulse. I'm a little worried because I read this topic published on Flipjuke ten years ago https://flipjuke.fr/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=53824&hilit=interplay talking about the same machine as mine. The man who tried to restart the machine thought that the main problem was coming from the little card, especially from the COP499. He thought that this cmos memory was credited with a number of games and when the number was reached, the machine broke down 😨 I tried to contact the man who wrote this topic but ten years later he does not answer. I croos my fingers hoping it's not true...
  16. Im new to Emulation, im wanting to learn hence why i am here Thank you
  17. Hi, not a problem all that will happen is they will not be as bright as the original lamps,
  18. Don't see why not although they might not be quite as bright?
  19. Hi all..I'm looking at getting a jukebox with animated lights round the glass frame, these are 12 volt 2 watt T10 wedge lamps. So is OK to fit 1.2 watt instead which are fruity lamps.many thanks.
  20. OK, thank you very much. I have a scope and I will check these lines. I have already looked at some lines with my scope and I saw some pulsing but I did not check them all. I have almost finished the MPU diagram.
  21. OK, this is going to be a bit tricky then as you will need a scope or failing that a logic probe. The ADDRESS and DATA lines can be accessed on the CPU(Z80) and they are numbered A0-A11 and D0-D7. They also go to the ROMs and RAM chip which you can see from the diagram, even if not exactly the same this is standard practice. So basically we want to check that all the lines are active (pulsing).
  22. OK thanks, but before I perform tests to chek the add and data lines, I need to know what are the data and add lines, because I have no knowledge about them 😭 Even if the diagrams of the MPU Princess and of the MPU Regent are not exactly the same, would you please explain to me where they are?
  23. Ah OK, it's nothing to do with the RESET then. You'll need to look deeper into the MPU to see if the ADD and DATA lines are all good.
  24. I think the topic is closed because the machine works now well. In conclusion, when the 4538 is in place, the machines works by itself (so it complies with the legislation written on the front glass). She is a vending machine. Without the 4538, it's possible to play like with any other coin machine. Thanks a lot for your help 👍👍👍.
  25. It's exactly the same for both machines. When I switch on a machine, three seconds later, the reset line becomes high (5 Volts) and stays that way. - On the coinmaster Princess, three seconds after switching on, the reset line becomes high, a music sounds and the bulbs start flashing. - On the Regent, three seconds after switching on, the reset line becomes also high but nothing else happens.
  26. So just to confirm are you saying the RESET line doesn't go low at all after switch on? How long should it go low for compared to the other machine?
