Hi guys

I picked this Machine up in 1995, and for the last 10 years or so, has been in my Dad's garage doing nothing.

Brought it home and its coming on but no sound.

Is there an online manual for these or anyone know where I can get one? Would love to know what all the buttons and controls do inside!

Thanks in advance

Richard

Hi Richard and welcome to the Mecca. First thing to do is get the Battery off the main board

and look for track damage under where it was. Im sure someone will link you to a manual

But a few basics is always good. Like fuses in the plug and Power Supply unit.

Was it in damp conditions or dry. May well be worth up loading some pics of the main

board so we can have a look B)

  ten years standing and it still boots up

your gonna need to hone your soldering and fault finding skills a bit by the sounds of this

how much knowledge do you have on circuit board repairs/ fault finding etc

if your like me and not to good at it you may be better sending it to somone for test/repair

good boards are very hard to find these days so repair will prob be your only option

Stupid me i did not read the first post properly and thought it was not working :headache::headache:

Mind you its probly still a good idea to replace the battery on the board.

Have you done the obvious and cheacked the speaker wires to begin with

And the Volume which would be in test mode and use the Buttons to adjust it.

After 10 years no having juice through it the battery would be flat and

maybe the volume would go to Nil. My round the town used to go to nil

volume when i had no battery on the main board for a few weeks B)

first make sure the audio is connected to the correct area, if its a late machine it should be connected to the game card 4 pin connector, thats the small card pluged into the large board(MPU) and not into the old 2 pin speaker output on the MPU

also check to see the volume is not turned right down, theres a volume pot on the game card, try it in a couple of positions

check to see the speakers are still connected at the speaker and check the speaker has not perished, its only paper

OK, attached some pictures, if anyone wants the original full size let me know!

Like I say, no sound, but that could be anything. Not sure where I'm looking for the battery either.

When it boots it says 4.2 on the credit display

Thanks for your help so far guys, been very interesting!
