Hard drive issue

There are specialist companies that can do it but they are mega expensive. They dismantle the drive and put the platters into a machine to read them. The only hope you’ve got other than spending many thousands of pounds is to find an identical hard drive that works and swap the control boards over. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

Long shot.is there anyway of getting info or programs off a hard drive that dont work.

If de HD is physical damaged / broken: specialized company and could be very expensive
If de HD is corrupted but not broken, then this is a reputable recovery option: https://easeus.com/data-recovery-software/

Hard drives usually present problems reading or writing if they're failing.  If your drive is not running at all I'd check that it's receiving power.  For a general check to see if it's working I'd connect it to another PC.  Also worth looking at my suggestion in this thread:

Hope you get it sorted, good luck.
