  1. Hey guys, thanks for all the feedback. Looking at the pics that Netdent attached, it shows that they gutted some major parts at the theatre company (Damned heathens).I doubt that they were careful to keep the parts they removed! Looks like we just got a white elephant, (Lucky it came so cheap) however, it shows what can happen if you dont have a clue what you are looking at, just a love of old things. I will indeed have a look around for another machine with guts and try to make a good one of the 2. but i cant imagine that there are many of these kicking around nowdays. if anyone hears of anything do let me know. Meantime i guess this will be decorating the garage instead of the conservatary, though i am gonna investigate Danno's suggestions too. Many thanks to all you guys for your feedback. we are determined to have one up and running so will no doubt be visiting the site regularly.
  2. Ok, more info on this machine. apparently my bro bought it from a theatre company above a pub, so, likelyhood is that it was used as a stage prop for some time. the bundles of black cable s are connected to the lights only and so look like a stageboys bodge job. it appears to be missing a central 240v distribution point if there was such a thing in the first place. I hope the piccys show as i just uploaded them to the gallery and linked to there. Hope someone can shed some light on where we go from here. as i said before, we are both quite handy, but this is a new challenge and any advice would be appreciated.
  3. soz for the slow response, i was in france for a few days, will take some piccys tomorrow and post them soonest. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
  4. And, thanks for the welcome guys, i like the site already.
  5. Probably is, my brother bid on one that was currently up to £5.00...He bid £5.20 and got it! Been walking round like a princess ever since. jammy bugger! but on the downside, some of the guts appears to be missing at the back so we have no idea what is meant to be in there, seems most of the important stuff is in, but all of the mains power distribution has been cut out, literally just snipped off. Anyway. we are determined to have a crack at rebuilding it. since he only paid £5.20 for it we can afford to throw some cash at parts,....if we can find them.
  6. Hey guys, if anyone has and useful info on the Carfield Club Nudger (Circa 1975) i would love to hear from them, especially if anyone happens to have a wiring diagram! (I guess thats asking a lot...but) Many thanks. hopes you all having fun with yours.
