Ace Cash Bowl pleadings!!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I know it's a bit new but....

Finally trying to get my Cash bowl conversion working at last, (been quite a while - was a £for£)

But have a few probs..

Firstly: the only proms I have are for the £8 version but the glass' I obtained are the later £5 type, does anyone on here have them dumped or a set they could 'lend' me and I'll dump them.

Secondly: iirc the £5 version uses the MCUV10 reel drive chip, and I only have the V9 version, now I know that these are not dumpable, so does any one have one knocking around anywhere going spare.....please, pretty please

Oh and can anyone tell me the value of the resistor that's soldered to the underside of the extra dill socket on the reel MCU and what pins it is soldered to (most of the later space machines had an extra socket with the resistor soldered to the second one - please have a look in any old space boards you have - I'll bet you may find one and never knew it was there)

Thirdly: long shot I know but........does anyone have a reelband for the 4th reel (stop laughing now - just thought I'd ask)

Then if all the above gets done I just have to repair my MPU boards and try to remember how the sampled sound was wired up!

One mpu boots but normally gives a reel 4 sc error, it's a very clean board so shouldn't be much of a problem .

Other mpu boots without reel error but gives button stuck error instead - but this one has quite a bit of battery damaged so I'm threatening it with the sarsons treatment - only problem is I REALLY HATE VINEGAR - It MAKES ME HEAVE!!

So there ya go, ya reckon it'll be done by monday :D

On a different note, how much should I offer for an original Twilight Zone machine, without insulting the Indian gent who still has it sited illegally in his cafe! (or should I threaten to grass him up:D)

Oh forgot to mention - beer tokens waiting for any help with the above

Cheers and happy hunting - go on you know you want to....

IIRC the siting of machines in cafe's and chips shops etc was now up to the local council. Its just really hard, however if he is mates with someone on said council, it might be legit. Unless the rules changed again.

I think this month is the last cut off point for licences to expire for machines in cafes etc, from then on that's it.

Twilight Zone is worth £50 to £100 maybe abit more depending on how badly you want it.

Correct, afaik it is the end of this month, would probably cost £20 in Mr Muscle just to clean the grease of the glass!!

:headache:

also found a Blues Boys - any good?

Hi,

I have literally just got my SP Ace Cash bowl up and running after some nasty battery damage in the last few weeks.

I have about 3 duff main boards, and also I am sure I have V9 and V10 chips. I think the V10 is currently in my machne and V9 is spare.

I added some high res photos to a previous post of the main boards.

Let me know what you want and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply,

I should be able to fix the board's I have here, but my software is the £8 jackpot version (and that needs the V9 which I have)

But my glass is the £5 jackpot and that requires the V10 reel driver mcu + game proms.

The glass is printed, not a decal, so it cant be changed.

Would ideally like the £5 prom files and a v10, if some one has a rom dump of the £5 version that would be ideal (if I can find a v10 mcu)

or if some kind soul could send me the £5 proms I can dump them here, have a very safe and reliable (and expensive!) eprom burner so your proms will be in very safe hands.

Cheers for the files, will have a sort through later.

You probably know this already, a quick way to identify an sp.ACE data prom is to load prom 2 into a hex editor and check address 2005 (normally that address)

if it P (in ASCII) it's a data prom, if it's N it's not

Normally reads as ACEN or ACEP
