JPM Pool Play refurb thread

Recommended Posts

Just got this today but bought it early march so a long time coming, well worth the wait.

Before I give it any serious play time I need to strip and service the reel deck, slow reel spin then speeds up rapid with clicky sound maybe the contacts? Not sure

It's in good shape apart from the butchered cash door! not sure about repairing that yet!

The top perspex has a strange bulge! heat related? Not sure?

The control board looks fine apart from a loose nudge/hold timer! been removed at some point for some reason?

Also noticed on a win sometimes the pay slide will just buzz instead of paying a coin? Yet when you put fifty in for change it chatters it out fine? Payout relay? bad contact? Ron?

Power plug socket has been bodged! probably need to fit the later kettle type to it

Not the dirtiest machine I have had and mostly just dust, will clean up nicely! bit of trim broke at the top, oh and both cash boxes missing

Good luck with it all ronnie. If you had some coloured vinyl of the same pattern you could just cut  a new door to fit 😉

Nice to have the back-door relay diagram.

That 8-ball symbol appeared on some Maygay machines, too.

Had the reel deck out and stripped it down cleaned, soaked the clutches stripped clened and greased the motor, now all working as I remeber it.

Had the 10 slider out and cleaned that up, it's much better but still the odd time on a 10p win will just buzz, the 10p relay looks clean on the contacts too.

I wonder if you can remove the top perspex, apply a tea towel to it and a weight and then hit it with a  Hair Dryer ?

or lean a wash bowl full of hot water on it ?
