It’s obscene!! You’ve got to be 18 to look at it.

Most probably one of the many Peter Simper electro's looking at the cabinet style and their scenic views printed in the glasses.

Not the most exciting machines much like early ACE basic electro games.

Not working, the cabinet needs repair as the base has virtually gone so in need of some TLC, they can prove to be quite a challenge if suffering bad faults.

Talking of ACE, here is Ring a Bell, looks good and just slight fault with credit which should be easy fix...

What I always find interesting is how similar these are to BF like water wheel etc. Who copied off who? Remember my Dad saying Ace Monte Carlo was first machine of this type. Can you throw any light on this Ron???

I have looked into this but still trying to get a final conclusion.

What I can take from findings so far that they were possibly generic cabinets built by a manufacturing company for the machine manufacturers who in their infancy of advancing from one arm pull machines to the electro mechanical machines were supplied used to house their hardware until they tooled up to build their own cabinets.

All too far away.

I can't believe that's a Peter Simper, despite the buttons. There is too much empty space in it!

Ring-a-Bell is my thing, certainly.

The Action Line looks like  it still has the half-crown changer, crudely masked down to 2/- or Ten NP.

A pre-decimal Action Line is on my wanted list.

I have a Maygay Bingo Club, which is a fairly straightforward game, with a simple bingo card feature.

Can't see it as any better or worse than the other makers at that time.

Is there something I should know?

Outbid on Ring-a-Bell.

Has anyone heard of C.O.P.S  Ltd?

Coin Operated Parts Services Ltd a manufacturer based in Stockport and built quite a few electro mechanical machines in the 70s

Unfortunately they fell behind when MPU tech arrived and went into receivership in 1982

The Skier on eBay is one of their machines

Thanks, Ron.

If anyone wants to outbid me on The Skier, please feel free to do so; next bid will do it.

It would save me a trip to Manchester.

That brings back memories. I used to have one of these in my bedroom. The neighbors were really pleased  when I got rid of it, because it was the noisiest machine imaginable!

What was the gameplay like?

It doesn't seem to have anything more than an ordinary mechanical bandit would have, except a bigger box.

That's all it is basically. An advancement on the full mechanical pull arm and payout machine to the mechanical reel mech with solenoid payouts.. Back in it's day this actually was a club machine with a £4 jackpot as A.W.P. pub machines limits were10p cash 25p tokens..
