  1. I got two from there via the fellas who with official permission managed to rescue them. Both will hopefully in time be renovated

  2. I saw someone trying to track down some ROMs the other week over on Desert Island Fruits, so I've mirrored @Geddy's big fruit machine ROM collection to the Internet Archive. I can periodically upload a fresh copy to overwrite the old one... since we've got the publicly accessible Community Drive (see Dif for more info on this project), this seemed like a good companion resource Link is here: https://tinyurl.com/3jhzbueb

  3. Hi there! Thanks for your reply. The picture of the board was taken before cleaning. It has been in my ultrasonic cleaner. Tracks repaired. Replaced some parts. Gone to bed yesterday evening and woke up with a fresh head.. grabbed my multimeter and found out one logic had bad ground connection...DOH!! fixed that and plugged it in...yay!! Kicked the old and heavy CRT out and installed a fresh TFT screen It is fully working again and will soon belong to Geronimo

  4. Hi all I've recently acquired a machine called bonus fruit by leisure games .it uses mpu3 tech housed in a leisure games cabinet with their own psu .it was rescued with official consent by fruit loopy (martin) .he took a video a week or so prior to going up with a van with his colleague Ben. Unfortunately the board and cart have been taken prior to their visit and so now I'm left hoping that the person/s who took the board and cart will offer them up at some point .without the roms it will obviously be a lost game which would be a complete waste and crying shame to break such rare gem .below are pictures of the machine . If anyone see s a mpu3 cart up for sale or the roms themselves then obviously I'd be only too happy to grab them .Also if they get dumped onto any databases again I'd be very grateful to know .thanks in advance for any info offered . Cheers Nick

  5. I put some in my basket to see, they reckon that they will have more in stock soon. The lad in Austria is happy to have them delivered to him, he can then bring him back over in his luggage. I'll also get him to ask if they have, or can get, any suitable pins/receptacles for these. If they get more in then we can all order up what we need (within reason).

  6. OK here we again. I said I'd been looking for 8 years, well it's now 10! Amazing what you can find with Google lens. https://www.coinoperatorshop.com/en/Spareparts---Asseccories/Connector-3473/Combo-plug-3475/ OK, what's the catch...... Shipping is £25!! Still if anyone knows someone in Austria.....

  7. Graham, make sure when they ask for pins they don't sell them the male crimps instead! I reckon the pins don't actually exist as a separate part as I've never found a part number for them. So I'm thinking they come as a whole unit in the housing but I've never found a part number for that either??

  8. I've got a couple of colleagues who work in Austria so that's not a problem. I'll speak to them next week and we can get something organised.

  10. After doing another Match it I decided it was time to knuckle down and build a 4 reel payout tester. At least now if I ever get another one in to work on I can 100% prove all the features and payouts are working. Here's the abbreviated payout list that might save someone a lot of time in the future so hope it's useful... Slingshot mech .pdf

  11. I did already add the link in my forum signature over on Dif: Not exactly one of my projects since it's simply a one-off upload of @Geddy's incredible work, but it's such a valuable Community Resource I felt it warranted a place among the other project links! I did also post a new thread about it in the Dif Resources section: https://www.desertislandfruits.com/forum/index.php?/topic/16850-fruit-machine-rom-archive/ I just looked it up, and there's no way to post a raw URL link in a google drive, you can only post links to other google drives. So no way to create a direct link right now. I've added a text doc, with just a link to the Community Drive so far... I can add more links, open to suggestions

  12. Do we have a drawing of the pins (or can we create one)? If we decide on size and material I know companies with suitable CNC capabilities and can get a price from them.

  13. In the MPS2 it's IC5 and 10, it definitely needs IC10 because as you said it controls the reel comms. Now I have found that IC5 isn't always needed and it depends on the game (some will run and some won't) so it could be the same in MPS1 (IC6)?

  14. 1. There are 2 TMS9902, can the printer port one (IC6) be taken out and used for the reel comms (IC4) or will the MPS system error due to the missing chip. 2. This chip is used in several other computing systems, I can imagine a replacement would become popular. 3. The MPS uses it for reel comms, simple serial communications BUT it does multiplex TX/RX onto a single track. I wonder if a relatively simple hack can be made to just keep this comms running. I see TX/RX are combined after the TMS9902 and split with an inverter for the TMS7041 reel CPU. MAX232 to the rescue ???

  15. Thnx Geronimo, got it partially working now. Screen shows something but not all. Reset button and clear meters button works. Cleaned up the battery moisture and repaired some lines. Replaced some components. All ic's are rebranded with specific codes wich makes repairing the board really hard. Programmer reads most of the logics but not all. I'm really getting stuck without the schematics Anyone familiar with this (really old) system?

  21. That is possible, Digikey have them in stock https://www.digikey.co.uk/en/products/detail/te-connectivity-amp-connectors/61062-3/21530399 , I would always be a bit concerned that the possible heat generated would affect the crimps after a while especially if they weren't crimped with a proper AMP tool which most folks wouldn't have? I've never seen a drawing of one as they don't appear in the Combo-line info as they originally weren't PCB mounted. It's possible this could have been a special for Barcrest, I do hope not! Still, pins are available to measure from existing connectors if someone has the skills to produce a drawing. Not sure what they might be made of though?

  23. Many System 80 JPMs have a purple grape with a 4 on the middle reel, Copperwin, Winsprint, Topsprint, Superbank etc.

  25. Great little game Greg and there did seem to be a lot of the moon bugs about so I'm not surprised you remember this machine .there was a 5p version called nudge bug as well .I haven't got a picture of it unfortunately.

  29. Lovely looking machine, never seen one of these before! Still looks like there's quite a bit of battery damage in the top left corner of the board (next to letter G) - you really need to clean that up and you will also find quite a few components in the area where the battery was are shot. Hopefully nothing too major though as it's obviously booting up. Can you take a few close-up pictures around the damaged area to see what's been attacked?

  30. Maybe a good idea to start a new thread on this one and see what the response is?

  31. I would have thought so Andrew, I am one of the lucky ones in need of some! I suppose it would depend on how many others require some! I suppose the situation will only get worse over the coming years!

  34. I posted that machine in the eletro club on facebook if you want to have a look on the comments regarding the mpu. Hear I'll save you the hassle.

  35. Well, just worked out that holes in the reel are incrementing in binary exactly like the studs do in the motor driven wiper mech. That makes it really easy to match the symbols on the reel bands to their binary equivalent. Just one thing that almost caught me was remembering the sensors are at the back so I'll have to mirror what I'm reading at the front.

  36. Mnay thanks for all of those. None unfortunately look familiar. I'd expect it was one that was relatively common BITD and as I say can't be 100% sure it was Maygay, just that the symbols and numbers looked familiar and not come across a machine with those when browsing online.

  37. Still no soldered pins though.
