A bit of a shaggy dog story now, bear with me though as it's a goody. I've been looking at a couple of MPU2 carts which have suffered battery rot. They have the mask ROM on them which is either a SL32000 or a SCM39199P. The next one had started eating away the ROMs and a leg fell off! So you can see both versions of the two chips, one's a Farranti and the other a Motorola device. These are both custom specials probably with the same code burnt in but I can't be sure on that? Anyway, yesterday I was frantically searching for some ROMs that I thought I'd mislaid in the workshop, actually I hadn't but that's another story! So whilst searching I came across a set of ROMs that Rich kindly donated some time back. I had copied them all previously for safety but looking closely at one of them I noticed something I hadn't spotted before. It had Barcrest hand written on the label along with BASIS.PR which meant nothing to me. What I hadn't noticed though was at the top it also said SCM39199P!! Now, whether this is the code on those custom chips I can't say, but it might be? SCM39199p.rar

I've run the ROM dump through a 6800 disassembler and it does appear to contain valid program code. I've attached a copy of the listing for anyone who is interested. SCM39199p.lst

Then use colour picker tool to pick up the colour and again hand draw over it to get rid of blemishes and white in the coloured area

Hi chaps, Here's a bit of a blinder, a really good nick LSI chassis. Rarer than hens teeth! Now you maybe thinking where's the RAM, where does the ROM cart go and where's all the support chips? It must all be done with the ZNA129 chip. I can't find any information on this one and even the stuff that RIche has posted doesn't have a schematic which is a shame. You have assume that it would only ever play the one game without re-soldering the chip as it must be programmed at the factory. I'm sure the smarter folks out there will correct me if that's not the case. The beauty with these old boards is there's no battery so no corrosion. I might have a go at drawing out the schematic if I get the time (and enthusiasm). It's certainly a fascinating tech probably one of the first to go digital.

Not long got back from collecting the bottom glass today from Ian at instance automatics, I already had the top glass and i picked 2 x moneyline fruit machines up in the bexhill raid the other week and unfortunately one has a broken bottom glass so donor cab sorted happy days

Nice work, looking good. If there's any texture to the coloured area being repaired I'd use the clone tool rather than colour picker. Good luck

Well for those following here's a cleaned up band from Rich's set and a Rat Race one too. Best I can do, im no artist but they look good printed

I've bought some yellow too to try and rescue the Bell Fruit artwork on the glass.

Bloody hell Rich, is there nothing you can't find.👍 Any info on that chip would be a real bonus. That would save me many hours of head scratching and my old eyesight too.

maybe unrelated but i spoke to a op in leeds about stanmarsh's fruit deuce many years ago and he said he knew the guys from farentti and would / could get the schematics for me let me contact him again, might be too late and comes to nothing but doesnt hurt asking
