  1. I should call them a brass collar pressed into place rather than a bearing. check the collar in opposite case side as it could easily be that one to blame too. Not the best parts to replace so, Hopefully should be ok with plenty of grease to keep the gears lubricated if the machine is just in collection and not going to be use in arcade conditions. Lack of lubrication at some point is the cause of that sort of wear in gearboxes and why I recommend a motor strip if you do not know the machines history or it's been stored for a length of time.

  6. Investigating some snipped wires behind the meter panel... Out comes the panel which reveals the final resting place of a long dead family of spiders... A better look at the wiring. I think the snipped ones are just unused ground connections for the door switches. No idea why they were cut though... Bonus! It seems that the spiders were the guardians of a hidden treasure trove. Well, 50 pence worth of old tens...
