Big Buck$ 1600 DX

Recommended Posts

Here's the completed DX for this old JPM machine called Big Buck$. It's a 1600 DX, so would look best at a resolution of 1600x1200, but it can also be played on MFME3.2 with the, "Rescale" option.

One thing worth mentioning, and that is some of the lamps will just go off, by themselves and won't come back on until the machine has been reset. This mainly happens on V3.2. Doesn't do it so much on V2. This only happens very occasionally, and doesn't affect the gameplay.

Adydb will soon be getting a 1280 version done, so if you can't get to a resolution of 1600x1200 you might be better off waiting for his version to be released! :)

Huge thanks goes out to Duane, for the roms. Player, for getting the roms dumped. Liam, for the reel images that were used, and also Spa for the flier. :)

Shortcuts for this, are:

Cancel - `

Hold/Nudge 1 - 1

Hold/Nudge 2 - 2

Hold/Nudge 3 - 3

Take It - T

Stake/Shuffle - S

Start - Space

Select - C

20p Insert - 9

£1 Insert - 0

Layout is attached to the thread. Enjoy!

another MPS machine comes alive again in the virtual world. I wonder how many are left out there?

Had a quick play on it, well up to your usual high standard Ploggy mate. I'll put it through its paces again later.

Thanks to everyone involved in bringing the machine back to life :)

Thanks for this!

Got the JP, and the rom seems to get stuck in a loop of paying out nonstop.

Just watching it now, and it's currently at several thousand % and climbing.

Yay, I found an emptier 20 years too late.

It's giving you the, "hidden" £2 repeat thingy I was talking about I think mate. Unless the emulator has a problem with the rom somehow, which is also possible.

When it offers you the chance of the £2 repeat, the only lamp that flashes is the lamp on the, "Start" button. No other lamps flash which is a bit odd I must admit.

Which emulator version was it doing this on, mate? V2, or 3.2?

EDIT: Just had another look at this, and I just had the same problem. :(

There's a problem when it goes too far over the bank limit by the looks of things. I just had £10 in the bank, then it gave me the jackpot and it wouldn't stop paying out. I'll have to have another good look at it and see if I can fix it. Nooo!!!!

There are quite a few left I would imagine, mate. It wasn't only JPM that used MPS mind. PCP, MDM and I imagine a few other manu's used it at the time as well. Some machines we will never see again, which is a massive shame. :(

Here's a couple more to look out for, mate. They're both JPM, Sys 5 machines. They're called: Reel Appeal, and Strike Ten.

EDITED TO ADD MORE MIA: And a few more to look out for: Moneytrail, and Powergame. We already have roms for Powergame, but they don't work so might be a bad dump.

I did a layout for a MPS version of S10, mate, but the flier I'm looking at looks like a Sys 5 machine. :??:

MPS machine I did a layout for on the left, and the other version on the right.

The other version could well be MPS as well. Can't be 100% though.

Sorry i took so long, i got carried away

Time to get testing! :)

Didn't know they did two versions of Strike Ten. The one I remember is the MPS version on the left. Don't remember seeing the other one though.

Have you done a layout for the £4 version? If so could you post a link please mate, would love to play it again. :)

I've had another good look at this, regarding the lamp and payout problems, and I can't figure out why it's doing it unfortunately. :(

The lamp problems are probably down to the emulator, because there are lamp problems on other MPS machines as well, (Hi Roller for example). But the infinite payout thing I've never seen before. Very unusual, that. :??:

You folks could try and put on dip switch 6, so that it pays out in £1's, instead of 50p's but that's all I can think of. Other than that, just try and take the money out of the bank before it gets over £8, say, and you should be fine.
