MFME Front end

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Made this earlier. It runs off XML so can be set up with images and file paths. Thanks to @Wizardfor the awesome MFME, and thanks to @Pook for such great DX's :). If anyones interested I can forward this on. It currently only works on 1920 x 1080.

That looks very good, just had chance to view the video. Mines more of a custom software for my machine (but in a topic I said I would share mine when done) yours looks really neat, I personally think you should release it to the scene as i'd be quite fond on using that on my laptop rather than searching a menu to select a game to play.

Just from viewing it in the video how does it find the images? same as mine as a jpg?

Can you add games just by dropping them in a folder?

Looks really good mate.

Did you just take screenshots for the images or make icons?

Can you stop the warning & "key allocation" pop-ups when you load a game?

As you know, i'm making a sort of life-size "machine" with a 46 inch touchscreen in portrait mode, so would need the screen res to be the other way round. All i'm doing at the moment is making icons from screenshots and placing them on the desktop with a link to the program. I've used a keyboard emulator for the "Escape key" to exit, so your system is definately better.

I'd be interested in the code too as i can program some VB (I often do stuff in Excel at work)

Hi DJ

I looked at stopping the pop up's but look like they are pop up's from with MFME so would say that's not doable.

The icons are pooks layout screens

You don't need any keybaord emulator, tell me what you want and i'll make it for you (you have helped me out countless times)

It uses an XML file that you just set up to point at the image and the .gam file. Thinking about it, I can make it much easier. Need to have a play around. Currently it's like:

    <Paths>

Your welcome to the code if you want it. It's written in C# in windows forms. Happy to customize it for you if you tell me what you want, just let me know. I was thinking of a new menu....

Opening is manufacturer, once chosen it goes to tech, then games. This is something I would prefere but maybe others wouldn't be bothered about tech.#

Let me know how you wanna proceed :)

Cheers

John

I'll release it once it's been tweaked. Needs to be configurable. As it is now it's just a standard 1920 x 1080. Also need to make the set up easier.

Updated this last night. Now scans through the folders without XML set up. Just need to make it auto adjust depending on the screen resolution next and do a release. There should be minimal set up once complete.
