My EWS  was originally a red glass and converted

to a CTL 10p/£3. It paid out in 10p tokens.

I have back converted it to a red as that is what

I always wanted.

It also has 10p/£2 ROMS version 8 which are

more generous

Hey Chris,

Ive been playing the version 8 roms and yes they are way too generous , ive very nearly emptied mine twice now......Had Grapes hold 3 times and JPMs hold 5 times

I reckon it will need new pay slides soon if it carries on with this version rom set

My other ews is running ver13 and is a completely different story very tight and I doubt I will ever empty that lol.......Melons have held once , and JPM's have held 3 times

Chris just a question

How do you know that your ews started its life as an original  red glass vision!

Before being converted to the blue ctl ?

Checked the delivery numbers inside the cabinet.

The SRU deck and PSU also have stickers with these numbers on it.

There is a data base for all JPM delivery numbers which will tell you if your machine was originally something else.

Turns out mine was converted from a red glass EWS.

So she deserved to be changed back.

I am pretty sure the same went with most other manufacturers of the same era.

Cannot seem to get a link.

It's on another forum site.

Don't think it's an actual data base

Just one put together by various collectors.

I'm pretty sure one was done for Barcrest too.

EWS reds had serial numbers 30001

to 30600 ish,my one is 30342.

Or wondering if this is just hear say !

Stef looks like out of your three according to what chirs is saying about

S/N NONE OF YOUR STARTED OUT AS A RED GLASS EWS.

wondering if any one eles on the form as one Inbetween the numbers which according tell  you it started its life as a red glass EWS! ??

Im going to have  look inside mine !!

It would be nice to know out of all the Ews owner's  there S/N fall into that numbers gap.

Stef's 14223 is probably his NDUD.

My one has a 16xxx number and is

the £2 version.

These numbers are featured on

The back door as per picture,on the SRU deck and on the psu.

Obviously it is possible to have different numbers if parts were swapped for example.

My 3 are the same number miraculously.

The numbers were all collected by Vinny who used to be on here by machines he used to have and with the many collectors he already knew.

So it was a generalised account really rather than an accurate account with information he had collected.

Im sure my 2p shuffle must have been a Red EWS in its previous life as the original reel deck symbols had imprinted onto the plastic reels when i peeled off the 2p shuffle ones plus the lamp wiring looms are a perfect match for the original EWS with only a few "added" wires when they converted it

My first EWS Red must be original as it was in a shocking state but cleaned up well in the end

Not sure about the NDUD as this was an empty shell of a cab when i got it ...also if you look carefully at the hold buttons,  the black fibre glass has round buttons etched into it so these were replaced with the NDUD rectangle buttons when passed onto me ?

Would probably mean that your ndud started life as a original ndu stef which did have the round buttons the same as eachway nudger .

Those ews bands must have been stuck down good and proper for the residues of the bands to remain on.the drums  like that .reckon the mdm factory workers didnt enjoy peeling those bands off 😉
