Mpu3 Alpha issues

Recommended Posts

I'm sure i have seen threads on here before about these issues, but I can't find them! One of my alpha's has what looks like apostrophes all across the display, is it repairable or is it shagged?

as the writing is still visible it looks to me like a failure of the chip on the back of the alpha turning on that segment across the display

yup you need a new rockwell 10937 . or an OKI 1937 they should both work.  Could pilfer one off the back of an mpu4 display or similar provided the IC is a 40 pin DIP.

Okay so it’s repairable!

Thats good news, I will give it ago, I’m sure I can kill it completely 😂

Thanks for the replies chaps, it’s appreciated.

Watch out, the Oki version doesn't have the £ sign if I recall.

Thanks Bob, I will be weary!

the segments are all multiplexed just like a lighting loom, its like a row or column is stuck high for some reason?
