Song samples used in fruit machines

Recommended Posts

This topic is right up my street

being an ex DJ.

Maygay heavily used song samples on

many of their machines.

An example...

Gladiators

Had

Queen. Another One bites the Dust

Queen. We will Rock you

And

The Troggs. Wild Thing.

Simpsons had

Paula Abdul. Straight Up

Doop.Doop.

And Pink Panther m1 samples

Queen. The Invisible Man

When it nudges lol.

Loads of others tho

Not just on Maygay.

Maygay was the ultimate when sampling stuff.  Any M1a machine, was packed full of them.  Play Coronation Street.

Two princes main feature theme

Moving on up, nudge sample

The annoying whistle sample for the hi lo gamble, that was used in lots of other M1A machines.

I'm pretty sure the bass line from White lines was used as the Collect bank sample

I'm sure there was a little more leniency back in the day

One of the machines played "Peaches" by The Stranglers - part of it when you got nudges and also on the repeat chance. Was this Eastenders, or maybe Cluedo? Sure it was a Maygay machine.  :hmm:

Lootshoot plays 'happy birthday' and 'I'm in the money'.

Not exactly top 10 material but songs nevertheless  :)

Ace of Spades by Motorhead for the £3 repeat

Power of Love by Huey Lewis for the feature board

Happy Hour by Housemartins for the Queen Vic feature

Omega

Smalltown Boy by Bronski Beat for the nudges

Peace by Sabrina Johnston for the 'YES' on a repeat chance

Yeah..that was a clever piece of programming, and pressing cancel finished the sample
