  1. Do you have reels, meters and speaker connected? All those connectors have interlock links.

    which manufacturer??

It looks like it could be a Trident/Subelectro.

  5. Well, I didn't think it would ever happen but the notorious and elusive Big Fifty is now part of the collection! There's plenty of work to be done to bring this gem back to some sort of former glory so stay tuned!

It did make quite a racket, 30x£1 and 40x50p! I checked the meters and it's chewed through 19590 credits since the last RAM clear. Despite dropping £50, it's still running under percentage; 78% target, 76.4% actual.

Oh... My... God. Big Fifty just made good on it's promise, and I'm absolutely kicking myself for not recording it. 🤬 In the late Eighties, imagine the looks you'd get whilst trying to stuff your pockets with this lot, after the long and noisy payout attracts the attention of everyone in the arcade...

OK, I've dug out my old XP laptop I use with my EPP-1F. I use the DOS version of PromProg - I'm sure there was a reason I didn't use the Windows version but can't remember why! Running PromProg in compatibility mode for Windows 95 with all other compatibility options ticked. Port setting in Windows: COM2, 1200bps, 8 data bits, No parity, 1 stop bit, Hardware flow control, FIFO's disabled. Port setting in PromProg: COM2, 19200bps, RTS/CTS flow control.

  12. Thanks to Wizard for giving us MFME5, Quattrohead for testing, and to all those involved in obtaining these ROMs! Still using PCP symbols, will update them to the Real McCoy at some point... Normal shortcuts apply... Castle Big Fifty Classic v1_1.zip Who's going to win the "Big Fifty" first?? BTW, leave it in attract for a while for a short burst of music. Enjoy!

Another job done - rotten DMD connector replacement... Corrosion has travelled up the wire, notice the blackened copper. Wire cut back a few inches to reveal some half-decent copper to crimp onto: Brand new crimps and housing:

It turned out that the power supply was causing RAM corruption on power-down so I replaced all of the electrolytics and the IEC mains filter... Old vs new mains filters. An exploded Rifa hiding inside the old filter!! Old electrolytics. New electrolytics. Panasonic and nichicon, no penny pinching here! All done! No more RAM corruption! For now, anyway...🤞
