just solder the wires direct to the pins then you dont need a connector let us know how you get on .. if ii ever be lucky enough to own a machine id just twist the wires on and use sellotape as somekind of protection

Is (are) the connecting pin(s) on the board OK? If they're not clean you'll probably end up with the same issue in a few months time even with a new (or fixed) cable.

All backwards compatible. Mod 1 and 2 are essentially the same. But Mod 4 is a revision of MPU4 and is backwards compatible but can’t be used in Mod 2 Machines as it will have no sound but can fit a AY to mod 4 Some Mod 4s do have AYs build in people seem to think they don’t, but quite a few do

I never had any doubts about these. I've seen them in his Clickerty Click. I have 13 system80 machines myself. But luckily mine all work. And I have lots of spare boards. And cpu ics. In fact I've just found another cpu supply. And I've bought 2 to try for less than £15. But I've been too busy to try them yet lol. Remember it was me who discovered the last lot when a lot said they wouldn't work. So I bought 30. And now we all have them 🙂😉
