  12. Next up is this old skool favourite of retro players up and down the country, Cloud 999. In the Zip file is two versions, a lamps blended and a lamps Un-blended version. I've added both if the blended version runs too slow on your pc then the un-blended one is quicker. On the Blended version you may notice a few lamps and the first reel "jump" slightly, this is cured in mfme v19 same goes for the speed due to the blended lamps it may run slower in v6.1 but again it's vastly improved when v19 is released. Now the Thanks Firstly to Kriss for the original 1280dx version used for the majority of lamping positions A Big thankyou to Line Up Chris via the Mecca for uploading Hi Quality photos of the reel symbols, its thanks to these guys who own the older or any machines for giving us the images/roms for these classic machines Finally to Richy1976 who has help greatly with the blended lamps around the cabinet edges form id'ing various lamps to adding the correct masks to them, and adding coin in/out effects. Shortcuts are as standard. So Finally Enjoy it like its the 90's and Happy Gaming!!! Cloud 999 Dx's.zip

  21. It's been a while since I did a release due to ill health and struggling to log into this site after the upgrade about 6 months ago. As I don't have the email address I signed up to the Mecca with I have had to re register, I've done my old username with a full stop on the end. Here is a re release of the Bouncer Classic I did quite a few years back. Thanks to Wizard it now has the sounds such a big part of these system 80 machines. I would like to thank Ploggy for setting up the original sytem 80 blank layout used. Also thank you to Simon(Nudge Shuffle ) for taking time out to photograph the correct reel symbols and fonts which are used on this update. Thanks also to Pete W and Red Rose Leisure for the roms. This update also features the payout sounds and does the token payout sounds. For me this and it's clones were my favourite machines of all time. I felt it was quite forward thinking for it's time and it plays a simple but addictive game. The thrill when it feature holds after nudges and adds loads more, also the thrill when you hold the middle melon on the Bouncer feature thinking will the 3rd one stop first! Super machine. Hope you enjoy Alex jpmbouncer.rar

  36. Hi chaps Got myself my third electro machine last night. This one is called Pub Climber and is a conversion of Bell Fruit Ten Up on 10p play £2 jackpot. It's currently on all cash payout using the current. steel 10p's,but I am hoping to convert it back to old 10s and tokens, and to link up the studs to enhance the game play. I have done a video here for those who haven't seen this before. Hope you enjoy watching it. Cheers👍👍👍 Chris217

  39. Removing credit counters for single coin credit on electro's was simply to avoid tube starvation. With the credit counter that could hold a vast amount of credit and the later introduction of the 50p coin for change, if the machine went into a high sequence of payouts there would be the chance of very little amounts of coins going back into the tubes to refill so run empty, Most electro AWPs especially only held £14 in 10p coins. Adding strimming which became a serious problem on the S1 mechs so a credit counter would assist many a scammer. Pub landlords in the 70s were culprits for not helping tube starvation by using the 50p mech for change, the 50p for 1 credit and 40p change was brought in to help deter them. Although good for holding multiple credits, credit counters did have a drawback of regularly sticking either preventing the correct credits being added or the subtract solenoid jamming, even return spring breaking would prevent the count down of credits resulting in free plays. If you wanted to make an electro with single coin entry machine into multiple without adding electronic circuits you would virtually have to either add a relay and timer switch for each credit or a rotary stepper unit.

  42. I have a couple of sets of reels here I thought it might be good to start a thread with the help of pictures on what's involved in a step by step guide of the strip down, service and rebuild of these mechanical parts. Some electro owners have their own way to strip and service these reels which is fine with the same results, this way is my own which I find easiest for me. This first set of reels are out of a Bell Fruit Ten Up. This is a four reel machine but the working parts are the same on a three reel set with only one reel less. A good tip is to take pictures of everything on your own reel deck as you move along so if you do happen to get stuck with many of the parts you will know exactly where they belong.. The reels in early electro machines are held secure in position by two clamps at the back, later models had two brackets mounted on either end plate of the reels and secured by two bolts accessed under the reel shelf. once released and the reel loom plugs disconnected the reels will lift out from the machine. Part 1. First job is to remove the drive belt along with the two drive cogs on the reel and motor shafts. the cogs both have two hex bolts each to secure them to the drive shafts and may need a pair of pliers to help crack them loose as they have to be very tight. both these drive cogs are identical so no need to mark which came from where as they can go back on either drive shaft when rebuilding.. Next the reel motor... Bell Fruit used BA socket sizes for the smaller nuts and bolts on their machines in the 70s so anyone like me with socket drivers the bolt size holding the reel motor is 4BA or approx. 6mm but first remove the two wired spade connections to the motor before removing the four securing bolts, this will allow the heavy reel motor to be removed from the reel deck and place to one side... All being well you should have these parts removed.

  45. We never thought we would see this beauty from Jpm emulated but here we go. One of the nicest feelings when roms to a classic machine we never thought would be emulated turn up. Thank you so much Riche 100 who achieved mission impossible by discovering a Silver Ghost and then kindly provided the roms. Very grateful to you. Thanks to Wizard for sorting all the 7segs, meters and some coin input tweaks on the Silverreels classic I did, which was used as a base for this release. Wonderful machine by jpm. I very much remember branches of Nobles having rows of 4 or 5 of these and them all being played. Attractive glass design with the need for few bulbs, great gameplay, and good sounds going up a pitch fore each win obtained up the scale. So simple but so clever. I always thought these were an original base machine but they were in fact a rebuild on Supa Steppas and Bar 7. That feeling when two bars come on the first twp reels and that third one comes. Sometimes you could get a right run of 50p wins on. I remember as a kid when down to my last 20p or something, normally played 2p ers but I would put last bit into a Silver Ghost praying for a win then if I got 50p or more! would go back to Win A Gain or something similar and play for ages. This does like to drop 3 x 7's in from time to time aswell. Whoever wrote this game should be extremely proud of themselves. A simple machine, very entertaining, decent wins for player, and decent profits for the operator. Hope you enjoy Alex Silver Ghost (sys 80).rar

  47. so to continue, thats the jist of some of them, theres lots more: Bellfruit Games: Probably *the* origional and best modern machine creator out there, if you take modern meaning the early 70s on. They dominated the electro market in the 70s and 80s, there wasnt an arcade anywhere that didnt embrace the bellfruit machine, but they made some pretty good electronic platforms too.... Black box revision one- Two board sandwich in a metal case, tended to heat up a lot, Could develop some strange and frustrating faults. But a compact little computer, used the standard electromechanical reel system with triacs controlling the stop solenoids. Brought us some of the best known classics like firecracker, upstairs downstairs etc. Black box revision two- Same two board system with an NVRAM card added. Used stepper motors instead of electro reels. Nice machines on this platform, usually in that BFM small cab (two step etc). The internals of these cabs were quite daunting for ops of the day, let alone us collectors! System 83- stroke of genius by BFM, brought us some of the most entertaining games of the day. Good robust tech, and indestructable cabinets! System 85- actually came out in 1984. I know this because I have a system85 machine in a system 83 cab with an 84 date on the inspection sticker. Nice reliable tech it was, straightforward PCB layout, easily repaired then and now. Unlike JPMs etc it used a MC6800 CPU which was common on several diffrent techs of the day so it was easy for arcade ops to repair these. Probably my favourite BFM tech of all of them. System 88/89 (later named scorpion1) This was BFM growing up I think. Games were more advanced, sampled sound made an appearance. Scorpion platform was again very straightforward, but I think they had one or two flaws in the design. Rattly reel motors for one, and why was there airvents cut underneath the lamp resistors? You would think they would have rated the parts accordingly. Nevertheless, scorpion machines wiped the floor with the rolltop MPU4s at the time. Scorpion 2 - came out 1991/92 I think , someone will correct me. BFM made some drastic design changes to the scorpion platform and utilised FPGA chip technology to give their system some decent security, and to simplify some of the PCB design. Ive yet to figure out what this security actually is, I think it was just a case of scrambling the ROM address and data lines or something. Scorpion 4 (scorpion3 I dunno, mabye in house revision) - One of the most bloddy unreliable power supplies in existance came with this platform. Which is a pity becuase the PCB design is straightforward, SIMPLER than scorpion 2 believe it or not, and yet still easy for the hobbyist to repair. Its that damn switching PSU that lets it down, theres scorp4s switched off all over the country that are perfectly good MPU wise but have broken PSUs. I know one arcade alone with 8 machines having this issue. You can also get reel failures through the reel power rails drifting out of range, burning up the reel transistors. Six reel scorp4s are prone to this in particular. scorp 5- too new for me to bang on about!
