  1. After a great visit from the lads,Chris left me his Ten Up to sort out with a niggling fault with the gamble reel and apart from the repair I'm giving it the service treatment too. The fault is now repaired of which I will explain at end of the thread but onto the service first by removing the main control panel for strip down... All the spade connectors had gone through a recent check and replacement so saved me a very big time consuming job, all the timers were in typical electro condition picking up dirt on a machine after many hours of use. the main control timer with it's cover off to show the condition. Starting by the strip down of all the main timers and relays from the control panel leaving just the wiring and cam switches..

  3. Found this for Ā£10, no idea about, but fancied giving it a clean up especially for Ā£10! Anyone shed any light on it?

  4. This is ideal Ron, I love this kind of thread. On my electro someoneā€™s had a go at the timer, as the game plays terrible, and the super start doesnā€™t work, watching this with interest. No doubt this one is going to be golden by the time you have worked your magic!

  7. Could be itā€™s not seeing the tube sensors because the circuit on the main mpu is not strobing the switches, but how you faultfind that is not a easy task, and of course it might not even be that

  8. The hold/nudge timer is a part that was the centre of attention when it comes to an electro machines % payout, many operators removed the live wire links needed by the unit to give holds and nudges, even super starts (Depending on the game) to the player, by reducing the links drastically cut down the chances of obtaining holds or nudges making the game terrible to play. The condition of the stud board and rotary wipers can also contribute to the lack of holds/nudges too, A build up of dirt and grease insulates these contacts preventing the timer from operating and giving the player the holds/nudges during play. Pictures show the build up of dirt and after cleaning.

  10. so back to the board this thread was started on, not much done tonight as it has not been that warm in the workshop and could not be arsed! so the known bad track to the ram fixed, BUT also in total 4 links put in as yes there was more tracks rotted away! I am really finding the stereoscope very useful at spotting and repairing the tracks now I have one!!

  11. Top Stop was one of my most wanted machines to be emulated, then Wizard got the machine and he supplied the roms and Geddy/Dad the layouts. Still think it's one of the better Barcrest of the time, probably just better than the super 2 machines. I too played it at Butlins, but at Bognor Regis would have been aged between 18-21 I reckon. It was in the late night takeaway, used to play it while waiting for my Butlins burger with their own relish to be cooked. I don't regret playing it as I won more on it than I lost, but I always regretted the burger the next morning.

  12. Top stop Ā£4 jp had a man for extra life on the nudges features and Ā£2 cashpot one of the first machines to have an extra life if I recall and the first machine I played properly unless anyone remembers older machines with an actual extra life?
